The High Museum of Art in Atlanta is currently hosting an exciting and unique exhibition called “Dream Cars: Innovative Design, Visionary Ideas.” The exhibition, which runs from now until September 7, features seventeen different concept cars that were all revolutionary and mind-blowing at the time of their release.
One of the seventeen cars featured is the BMW GINA Light Visionary, a 2008 concept that brought a minimalist approach to function while still presenting a striking and interesting visual presence. “Beyond its undeniable beauty, the GINA Light Visionary Model was an advanced, water-resistant, translucent textile-bodied concept car with a virtually seamless fabric exterior skin that could change elements of its shape on demand,” Ken Gross, Consulting Curator for the exhibition, said, explaining the GINA’s selection. “And it wasn’t just a fanciful exercise. The GINA study helped BMW to develop rapid manufacturing, digital tooling techniques and a robot-guided steel embossing process to create the complex hoods for the production of the BMW Z4 M Roadster and the BMW Z4 M Coupé.”
Here at Union Park BMW, we’re excited to see the GINA featured in Atlanta, and we’re just as proud that our brand continues to be just as progressive today as it was back in 2008. Come visit us today to check out our amazing current lineup.
