While BMW did opt to discontinue the M3 Coupe, they definitely did not choose to lessen their vehicle lineup in any way. Instead, they’ve now revealed a new-generation M3 Sedan as well as the all-new M4 Coupe—the replacement to the now discontinued M3. Together, these two new cars more than fill the gap that some thought might crop up in BMW’s lineup in the wake of the M3’s disappearance.
These cars look to bring in a new epoch of BMW branding—both the M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe have been lightweighted and equipped with advanced engine technology to create a healthy and premium balance of sexy power and luxurious efficiency. For a new generation, BMW does not want to stay content to only be the ultimate luxury driving machine, but the ultimate driving machine all the way around.
But never fear, BMW enthusiast! We at Union Park BMW are happy to report that this commitment to efficiency, no matter how powerful the vehicle, does not mean the German automaker is pulling in the reins on power. Both the M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe come with six-cylinder M TwinPower Turbo Engines that push them to 415 horsepower and 415 lb-ft torque. And with improved handling and suspension systems, these small cars are essentially road-ready race cars.
For those of you who cannot wait to get your hands on the M4 Coupe, Playstation and BMW have you covered, thanks to the release of a free DLC package for the Playstation 3/Playstation 4 title Gran Turismo 6.
“It is always wonderful to be able to bring to life a brand new car and I would like to thank BMW for trusting us with all of the data we needed to create the BMW M4 Coupé at such an early stage,” said Polyphony Digital’s president, Kazunori Yamauchi. “The car is fantastic. I felt very privileged to have a few laps around Ascari during the Gran Turismo 6 launch event and I am sure that Gran Turismo fans will now enjoy the same experience as well as the novelty of being among the first in the world to try the BMW M4 Coupé.”
