Spring is on its way, so now is the perfect time to help your car recover from the harsh winter months. Here are some spring car maintenance tips to get your vehicle back into tip top shape.
Get an oil and filter change done, since the cold weather made your engine work harder and probably made your oil get dirty faster. You should also check your fluids to make sure they’re all at the proper levels and nothing is leaking or dangerously low.
Check your tire tread and the pressure; add air if necessary. If you’ve been using winter tires, now is a good time to switch back to your all-season tires. You may also want to rotate them to make sure the tires are wearing evenly.
Have your battery tested. If it was on its last legs before winter started, it might be just about dead by the time the season is over. You should also have an auto professional look under the hood at your belts and hoses to make sure there are no cracks or leaks in them.
Get new blades for your windshield wiper, and then give your car a thorough cleaning. Make sure to get underneath the car and clear off all the accumulated dirt and salt! If you have more questions about spring car maintenance, call us at Union Park BMW.
