While many vehicle manufacturers go to auto shows to show off their updated lineup and possibly unveil a new concept car, BMW is taking it to a whole new level at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. The automaker is planning to world premiere five new vehicles.
The BMW i3 and i8 have been generating a lot of buzz recently, thanks to BMWs recent reveal of the all-electric vehicles. The i3 is an all-electric city car, while the i8 is a more developed version of the Vision Efficient Dynamics Concept.
BMW will also premiere the second-generation 1 Series. This year, European markets will receive a new generation of the rear-wheel-drive car that will feature new styling and a range of new turbocharged engines.
The 2012 BMW M5 is another eagerly-anticipated model that will debut in Frankfurt. The new M5 will get a serious power boost, with a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8, as well as minor styling updates.
Finally, the 520d EfficientDynamics Edition, which is likely a Europe-only model, will show off BMW’s fuel-saving technology while also featuring sporty style. The model will produce 184 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
Although many of these vehicles will not be making their way to the U.S. quite yet, these world premieres will have us eagerly awaiting their arrival.
