For beer fanatics on the east coast, Delaware is a goldmine. In Wilmington, good brews are just a short car ride away. Check out these breweries near Wilmington, DE that will put the hop (so to speak) back into your step.
Located in Newport, Twin Lakes Brewery is just a 15 minute car ride away. In nice weather, you can combine the two best “B” words: beer and bicycling. Head to this environmentally friendly brewery to try their well-liked Greenville Pale Ale, named for their first location.
With just a slightly longer drive to the west, you can taste the many taps at Iron Hill Brewery’s original location. Founded in 1995, this brewery offers a generous handful of foamy, handcrafted selections that change every day. While you’re there, you can taste some of their yummy American-style dining, like mini crab cakes or seafood pot pie.
Also founded in 1995, Dogfish Head is probably the most well-known of all Delaware breweries. This brewery is known for its seven varieties of Indian Pale Ales. However, Dogfish Head doesn’t stop at IPAs. It seems they have something for just about everyone. That includes the music lover (Beer to Drink Music To), the seafood lover (Chocolate Lobster, a draft exclusive) and the breakfast lover (Beer For Breakfast stout). Pancakes anyone?
