As you may remember, a few weeks ago we showed you BMW’s creative new ad to help curb distracted driving. Avoiding distractions to keep your eyes on the road is especially important during holiday weekends, such as the upcoming Labor Day Weekend, when many more people are traveling.
Union Park BMW wants to remind you to stay safe on the road, and keep those around you safe as well. Try to avoid behaviors like reaching for an object, reading, applying makeup, focusing on external distractions, and using a hand-held device. Handheld mobile devices are currently one of the biggest safety threats, so a few tips for avoiding these distractions are:
- Turn off your phone before turning on your car
- Put your phone somewhere that you won’t be able to see it while driving, like the trunk
- Let family, friends, and co-workers know you’ll be out of touch during a long drive
- Use technologies like BMW Assist with Bluetooth Wireless Technology, which not only has the ability to connect you to BMW Assist services, but also allows you to make and receive hands-free calls.
