The highly anticipated BMW M2 debut is set to take place at the 2016 North American International Auto Show, scheduled for January 11th-24th. Although we got a glimpse of the M2 in October, when it was officially unveiled, the Detroit Auto Show will give us our first close-up look at the bold exterior and interior design and the powerful M TwinPower Turbo engine under the hood.
According to a recent news release, the BMW M2 will be powered by a brand new M TwinPower Turbo technology 3-liter, 6-cylinder engine that puts out 365 bHP and 343 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to all that power, the new BMW M2 sprints from 0-60 mph in a mere 4.2 seconds.
Look for more details, including pricing and packages, when the M2 makes its grand entrance in Detroit. Also look for the new BMW X1, BMW 7 Series, the high-performance BMW i8, the plug-in hybrid BMW 330e, and the all-electric BMW i3 to make a splash at the NAIAS.
